We have all had to hit the pause button on vacations, but we know dreaming does not stop. Whether you dream about the beauty of Italy, cruising through the most romantic canals of Venice; saying “Cherrio” to new friends in Scotland, England, or Wales while exploring a winding path to windswept cliffs; relaxing in a white-washed village by the brilliant waters of the Mediterranean; or go off the beaten path to explore in the Caribbean... Keep Dreaming! Traveling and exploring this amazing world of ours is definitely in our future.
If you are like me, I am dreaming and planning the day when I can relax in the Spa while sailing the ocean blue. If cruising is not your thing, you are in luck. Many country’s borders are opening up and allowing us to enjoy traveling again, right now. Resorts and countries have instituted the utmost health and safety protocols to welcome you back. Some countries have added a variety of check point stations in the airports upon arrival with intense questioning at each station. Some are even going as far as testing each person entering for COVID-19. In addition to standard cleaning procedures, resorts have also upped their cleaning game on premises. One way they are making this happen is by placing hand sanitizing stations throughout the resorts. Also, many resorts are providing private airport transfers to avoid those crowded buses. In July, the Royal Caribbean Group, established a “Healthy Sail Panel” (a team of the best minds and leaders in public health, bio security, epidemiology, hospitality and maritime operations). According to Richard Fain, Chairman and CEO, Royal Caribbean Cruises, LTD, “With their guidance and expertise, we are raising our already outstanding health and safety standards to entirely new levels. By using our ingenuity, our passion, our innovation and the valuable knowledge of these experts, we're doing everything we can to ensure we're taking the proper steps to address our future. And we are proud to share our collective learnings with the cruise industry at large, as well as any other industries that may benefit from our best practices.” In addition to the myriad health and safety measures being put in place with country entrances, resorts, and cruise lines, the airlines have also instituted extra cleaning protocols and seat spacing. According to the “Airlines for America” website, “Carriers have added layers of protection to help protect passengers throughout their journey – from requiring facial coverings to enhancing cleaning protocols, such as electrostatic and fogging procedures. Some have implemented new boarding procedures and reduced beverage service to limit interaction.” While all these measures have been implemented for your health and comfort, it is always a good idea to pack that hand sanitizer and surface wipes as an extra layer of protection. So, let’s connect and start planning to make those dreams become a reality. Missy Hudgens, CTA Travel Connection [email protected] www.trvlconnection.com
